As we begin the 2014-2015 school year, Chevron is offering educators a chance to apply for up to $2,000 in eligible classroom materials through the Chevron Fuel Your School program. For more information about the program go to http://www.fuelyourschool.com/. Additional details can also be found below.

     How it works:
Throughout the month of October, everyone can help their local public schools by filling up at participating Chevron and Texaco locations. $1 will be donated, up to $150,000, when consumers purchase 8 or more gallons of fuel at participating local Chevron and Texaco stations in to help fund eligible classroom projects.

    How Teachers Apply for Funding:
To sign up and request funding for your eligible classroom project, follow these three simple steps:

    1. If you’re not yet a registered teacher on DonorsChoose.org, sign up now.
    1. Post your project at DonorsChoose.org between September 1 to November 30 (requesting up to $2,000 in materials).
    1. Spread the word about the Fuel Your School program, and be sure to go to Facebook and “like” Chevron Fuel Your School.

The Fuel Your School program can help make a big impact for our students and teachers.

    Special Message

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre, Superintendent of Schools, Jo Ann Matthews, and District Attorney Camille A. Morvant, II, are warning parents and children about the dangers of sending or receiving explicit photos or messages through texting and social media as part of a new public awareness campaign. The campaign is designed to educate citizens about the social and legal consequences associated with crimes like “sexting” and “cyberbullying,” and to encourage parents to pay attention to what their children are doing online.  More information on cyberbully and sexting can be found on the Lafourche Parish School District Website Homepage.
